  • Step 1:

    • Fill out the form on our service page

    Step 2:

    • After you fill out the form, within 5 business days, we will send an email that contains

    • We are a small business and can only take one client at a time. If there is a wait list, our email back to you will also contain a date for you to send your items.

    • Before sending your items, you must agree with the estimate, contract, project proposal, and timetable.

    • After we receive your signed forms, we will send an invoice for 50% of the estimated fee. Prices will be finalized upon completion of the project.

    Step 3:

    • Once everything is agreed on and paid for, you are free to send your items.

    Step 4:

    • We have received your items and sent confirmation of receipt. We are ready to begin your project.

    Step 5:

    • After everything is scanned, we will set up a video consultation and go through your new digital album.

      • This is a great time to ask about adding a cleaning service for the scans of your choice.

      • If you decide to have scans cleaned, we will send an additional

        • Estimate

        • Contract

        • Project proposal

        • Timetable for the added services.

      • If you decide to use our cleaning service, we will send you an invoice for 50% of the cleaning service estimate. The final cost for both scanning and cleaning services will be on one invoice.

    Step 6:

    • Your project is finished, and your new digital album is complete.

    Step 7:

    • Reminder, before we send your new album and items back to you, your service will need to be paid in full.

      • As per your contract, we will hold your items and digital album until all services are paid.

    Step 8:

    • We’ve received your final payment and have sent back your items and digital album.

      • We will email you the tracking number.

      • When your package is delivered, we will send confirmation of this as well.

  • Yes. A mandatory consultation will be held after all items have been scanned. This is to ensure that the client is happy and that all parties agree that the scanning project is complete. During this time, you can also request to add on our cleaning service.

  • Payments will be split into deposit and final payment.

    The deposit will be 50% of the total payment and this will be paid upfront and is not refundable. This will be based on the estimate given to you in the initial email from our company. We will send you an invoice for the deposit.

    After your service is done we will send you itemized invoice for the rest of your payment.

    Please understand that the estimate is just that, an estimate. Your final total may be more or less than what you were quoted. This is all dependent on the time required to complete the project.

    Please note that payment is due when the service is done. You will not receive your items back until we have received the final payment.

  • Due to the fact that this is a digital service, we do not offer refunds.

  • We scan 35mm film, slide film, and printed photographs.

    • Printed photographs can be up to 8.5×11 inches.

  • Your digital album will come in jpeg/jpg.

    Here, at memoriae, we first scan your items in TIFF format and then convert them into jpeg/jpg. This is to ensure we capture a high quality image which provides us the ability to clean the scan if requested.

  • After you fill out the form, we will send you an email that contains the shipping instructions along with other pertinent paperwork.

  • Length of time depends on whether or not you send printed photographs, film, slide film, or all of the above.

    For example:

    • 10 printed photographs take about 1 hour to scan.

    • 1 roll of 35mm film takes about 2.5 hours to scan.

    All scanning is done by hand. (Scan time is not guaranteed)

    If you added on a cleaning service length of time depends on condition of original media.

  • What comes in the box when you receive your items back will depend on what you send to us.

    • If you send us 35mm film and/or slide film, your film will come in protective sleeves.

    • If you send printed photographs, they will be sandwiched between sheets of acid free tissue paper.

    • All boxes will be filled with recycled paper packing for protection.

  • To ensure payment, you will not receive your items or scans until the final payment has been received.

  • At the bottom of our website we have a contact form that’s just for questions if you aren’t ready to purchase a service with us.
